Telbru (rebranded as imagine) is a Bruneian telecommunications company and provider offering various services to the consumer and enterprise sectors, the mainstay being high-speed broadband (HSBB) and telephone services over fibre optics infrastructure. The company also provides IT services to corporate as well as government clients.

imagine works closely with Brunei’s telecommunications network, led by the Unified National Networks (UNN), an organization 100% wholly owned by His Majesty’s Government of Brunei Darussalam. This network has over 3,000 km of fibre, connecting over 93,000 homes and 250 roaming destinations worldwide.

BUSINESS REQUIREMENT

The Treasury Department at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, partnered with Telbru (imagine) to implement an online Public Facilities Rental Software for the public to book venues for sports and leisure facilities and make payments online.

They required a system that could help them streamline the facility rental process and usage of shared and individual facilities/equipment within and outside any building in the country.

SOLUTION

The Government of Brunei Darussalam called for a tender for a Public Facilities Rental Sofware, the implementation of which allows citizens to easily book public and sports facilities like football fields, conference rooms, halls, swimming pools, etc. It was TelBru’s responsibility to coordinate Brunei’s infrastructure and facility development.

Comquest, the IT solution provider with TelBru in Brunei, a long-term partner to SIERRA suggested placing the bid for the contract because they knew about SIERRA’s expertise in the facility management domain. The consortium won the major national contract and implemented eFACiLiTY® Facility Reservation Software for Brunei’s public facilities in September 2015.

IMPLEMENTATION

Implementation of the Facility Rental System allows property owners in Brunei to update their property/facility details for shared lettings. It enables the public to search for several facilities matching their needs, book the facility, and make payments online from anywhere in the country.

1-2-Book implemented using eFACiLiTY® Facility Booking System enables the public to book venues for sports and leisure facilities like netball and badminton courts, football fields, conference rooms, and party halls with easy online payment options.

The quick booking feature helps Brunei’s citizens book a facility with a few clicks by entering minimum details. The advance reservation feature allows them to book single or multiple facilities for one or more dates. The system also helps streamline the workflow from request to confirmation or rejection of the booking requests.

It also helps admins/property owners to have complete control in managing the shared and rentable facilities and resources while eliminating the hassles involved in scheduling meetings, booking the required meeting rooms, cutting down workload, etc.
